Fantasy Football: from disinformation to stealth

Imagine George Costanza in a fantasy league, and you've got my attitude: paranoid, neurotic, obsessive, selfish, insecure.

It's time to move beyond disinformation, where everything I say could be a lie or a truth disguised as a lie and everybody should adhere to Fox Mulder's advice to trust no one.

Now we move to the part when I read all sorts of news stories that get me excited or leery about players' fantasy prospects, but keep these thoughts hidden. I still talk about fantasy football, but I do it without revealing anything important in my strategy or assessments.

But then the day of the draft, when we crawl off the floor in the morning and the rum and gin starts getting poured, everybody starts the disinformation again.

While subterfuge is useful in a snake draft, it is utterly necessary in an auction draft. You simply must not allow people to know how you really value players, or you will get screwed.

Am I childish, or are any of you doing the same sort of thing?
