1994 at the dome--the bears lined up for a 30-something yarder towards the end of the game, w/ the game tied @ 27. young and foolish, me and my buds started filing out. we were in the aisle when the ball sailed wide. as we started back to our seats, we were SERIOUSLY heckled by those around us for giving up (and deservedly so). in OT (or maybe it was just the last seconds) Warren Moon was under center, w/ Cris Carter wide to the right. Chicago's safety creeped up but the corner was stayed tight. Moon audibled, and Carter streaked down the sideline, catching Moon's perfect pass and taking it all the way.

The game in the Dome in 1998 where Rudd returned the fumble 98 yards and taunted the bears players, wagglign the ball at them and making them try to catch him even though he was inches from scoring.

I would have hated it from any other player or team, but that was a perfect moment in the dome, against the bears.

  3. Let me share my least favorite moment:

2003, at Chicago, Vikes down 13-10, in easy FG position but with plenty of time to score a TD--and on Daunte Culpepper's pass into the endzone, Charles Tillman rips the ball away from Randy Moss. I felt worse after that game than I did after any other Viking game--seriously.

I have since called Charles Tillman "Nemesis."

I can't find the game online, but it was when Ditka was coaching and the Vikings came back with 3 unanswered touchdowns to win the game. I was just a kid and my dad have given up on the game, but I was optimistic that Minnesota could still win, and they did!

Does anyone know which game I'm talking about?

  5. My favorite and least favorite is the same game. Last year, I believe it was week 2 or 3 (but I could be wrong) we played the Bears and lost due, in part, to a late Taylor fumble in the Red Zone.

I made the trip out to the dome from KY and my Dad flew in from PA. It was our first trip to the dome, something that we had dreamt of for what seems like my entire life. Being in the land of purple was great, the only down part was the lost.

One of my favorite parts of the game was when one of the Vike's DBs returned a pick for TD. I loved it, I had the Vike's defense that year in my fantasy league and was predicted that they would score a TD. What a great experience, even despite the outcome.

I found the game I referred to earlier. It was on Oct. 4, 1992.

Special thanks to Brian the genius over at Cheer or Die, without whom I might never have found out the date of the game. Directly from his site:

"The Bears were leading 20-0 when Harbaugh changed a call at the line of scrimmage. Ditka had instructed Harbaugh not to call any audibles because of the noise in the dome. No one heard the change.

Harbaugh's pass was intercepted by Todd Scott and run back for a touchdown. Ditka went wacky, screaming at Harbaugh on national TV and on the Metrodome scoreboard. It prompted the crowd to yell even louder and helped bury the Bears, who lost 21-20. The clash was seen as the unraveling of the Bears and also of Ditka, who was fired at the end of the season."
