Enjoy Draft Weekend, Suckers

Viking fans: amuse yourself while waiting for that second round pick to come up. Holy Hitter and I will likely be sorting through and trading football cards and playing Settlers of Catan.

Ah Settlers... the only setting in which it is normal to hear the phrase "I have a wood for your sheep."

Feel free to join Humperdoodle and the Albino at the Herkimer Bar in Uptown. They have very good sweet potato fries, PV.

Hey, PV, perhaps I'm crazy, but I'm starting to think that the Vikings should use their 2nd round pick this year, along with maybe a 2nd day pick next year, to try to trade for Jason Taylor, assuming their cap can handle Taylor’s salary for the next couple of years. Yes, this is a go for broke strategy, and Parcells may demand more, but the prospect of fielding perhaps the best front four since the ’70s Steelers should not be dismissed lightly.

The DE rotation in particular would just be crushing on opposing offensive lines, because Edwards, and quite possibly Robison, are going to be better than average pass rushers, assuming Edwards’ performance to date has not been too steroids related. Allen and Taylor would not get worn down, and enter the 4th quarter fresh, especially given the Williams tackles crushing opponents’ running games. Vikings fans could be looking at a team like the ‘00 Ravens, where qb play is not significant to winning a championship.

    Am I nuts?

    You know about, right?

  5. Hey, PV -

I'm going to take this completely opportunity, apropo of nothing, to introduce my blog, Virginia Viking. I've only launched it yesterday. Come check it out, and if you like it, link to it. Take care.
