Blizzard: it's officially dead time

Fantasy Football previews should start later this week, regardless of the NBA Finals. I'm now in full FFB planning mode.

Pro-football-reference.com looks at Daunte Culpepper's record season.

Paul Newberry of the AP writes an interesting article on dog fighting.

Sad news: former Viking Orlando Thomas is suffering with ALS.

Sports Law Blog has another post on free expression for fans attending games (Having done extensive research on censorship and free speech issues, I've really enjoyed Sports Law Blog's coverage of these issues in sports).

I Dislike Your Favorite Team shows Jim Souhan's latest Viking column to contain flawed logic.

Willis McGahee is yet another NFL player expecting big things in 2007. What should we call these summer pieces, featuring interviews with players talking about why they will be great the next season?

  1. I can't help but chuckle at the thought of Duante QBing for a Martz offense in Detroit. Just picture every possible receiver out in the pattern. Little protection from the line. Limited mobility and those famous hands. Would 35 fumbles be out of the question?

  2. I'm in the same boat. I'm actually looking forward to the Little League World Series. It's the only good sporting event left this summer.

maybe we should call those optimistic pieces discussing how a player on the downside of a decent career will resurrect said career by going to a new team as 'Suspend Your Disbelief' pieces or 'Not Going to Happen But Pretend' articles or 'This Guy Still Thinks He's Good.' Really. They never turn out. One in a hundered hasbeens resurrects a faded career. Corey Dillon. Marcus Allen. Uh. Drew Bledsoe for two minutes.
