WTF

I'm never paying attention to anything again. Never. Never again.

This seems like a bad re-run from last year.

We sit and wait for something all summer, and finally we get some news! But no, it's not news and we're fooled again. Now we're back to sitting and waiting. And writing.

The lesson with Favre is the same with all those fabricated reports about where Lebron was headed--none of these "stories" mean anything until something actually happens. Too many people want to make themselves important or make the big splash. Sometimes there's something to these stories but it's impossible to tell anymore. I remember rumors that Bus Cook was shopping Favre around when he retired the first time. That seemed ridiculous at the time but maybe that one was true. Who knows with someone this famous.

  4. Seems pretty clear to me that this isn't just a media-fueled thing; unless all those players who got texts were in on it. Shiancoe, in particular, was a guy who threw lots of logs onto this fire (and a guy who didn't get a text, it should be noted).

If Favre is healthy, I don't think there is any doubt that he plays. The question is, how healthy is he.

I like the idea that Favre just got fed up with Haynesworth dominating the news, and started this, but the way this broke isn't his modus operandi. He would have sat down with Ed Werder (who basically lives in Favre's driveway) and talked about how he wasn't sure his ankle was 100%, and how much he loves football, etc.

We'll see. I vacillate wildly between sure he is going to play and sure he isn't.
