I'm out of order, you're out of order, the whole SYSTEM is out of order!
If the Packers gave Brett Favre a cell phone, and Brett Favre then called the Vikings, then maybe Brett Favre should be punished for tampering with the Vikings! It was all a setup! A conspiracy! The next X-Files movie should check this out!
When Favre retired the pack got nothing. If the vikes talk him into unretiring the pack will be able to trade him for something. If the pack gets a 7th round pick they're that far ahead of the game. How then, if the vikes contact with favre (regardless of who started it) convinced him to convert from a worthless write off to an asset, has the pack been harmed?
If the pack convinces the league that the vikes talked favre into coming back, then the pack should be required to compensate us for our trouble. We effectively gained them whatever pick or player the pack can obtain for their unretired player. They owe us.
Now the latest report (on ESPN.com, I think) is that Farve wouldn't have had a Packers-issued cell phone. I suppose that makes sense; it would be compensation and have to be part of Farve's contract. So, someone made up a story to prompt the NFL to check the Vikings' phones. This pushes opinion in Wisconsin to favor Farve staying retired, prevent the Vikings from getting Farve, and maybe cost the Vikings a draft pick. Maybe Ted Thompson isn't that dumb, after all.
I, too, am starting to wonder if the Packers are pushing the "Vikings tampered" story to push attention off of themselves (as the Daily Norseman theorized). Not only do they push the tampering charges, but then some insider puts out the phone story.
Maybe this is all a long-term plan by the Packers to distract the Vikings. Have Favre call them, make them think about Favre, have reporters ask constant questions about Favre, accuse the Vikings of tampering, have more questions asked, etc. etc. A big old conspiracy. (NOTE: I don't really believe that).
packers (thompson) leak this info to make favre look bad, and make themselves look like the victim. just like that every other move they've made in the last few weeks. very aggressive, sneaky ted thompson.
hahaha the title of this posts reminded me of the time I saw someone saying this on a TV show, he said "I'm out of order, you're out of order, the whole SYSTEM is out of order!" but unfortunatetly I do not remember on what TV show I heard it

ReplyDeleteI can just imagine the conversation that took place this March...
ReplyDeleteMulder: "I'm telling you, Scully, UFOs are real."
Scully: "Sure, Mulder. By the way, did you hear the Brett Favre is going to retire?"
Mulder: "Come on, Scully, you expect me to believe that?"
there was no packer issued phone. that never happened. your team must have tampered in other ways.
