Last night I dreamed that the 2009 Vikings won the Super Bowl. The dream even featured the next day's aftermath. I was just as giddy and euphoric as I've ever been and probably ever will be. It had finally happened. Everything had changed. At some point I woke up and realized I was in bed. We were just through week eight. The Vikings have never won a Super Bowl.
This is the Year! I believe!ReplyDelete
As Jared Allen points out, this is a 7-1 team that hasn't played a complete game yet. There's a strong chance all your dreams may come true.ReplyDelete
My dream came true today, the Packers lost to Tampa.ReplyDelete
So with the bye week, I've had a little time on my hands -- and started thinking Vikings draft. Suppose the team ends up with a first round pick in the bottom six. What position should be addressed? I figure this is one way to evaluate the vikes at midseason because a mock-draft pick is likely targeted to address a need - now or future.ReplyDelete
Here are my picks in no particular order:
QB -- maybe Farvre returns maybe not, I see this as a pick for the future, someone that could watch TJack or Sage for a bit
DT -- time to start planning for Phat Pat's eventual retirement.
Secondary -- winfield is playing great, but in a couple of years who knows; I'd like more playmaking from our safeties
- Joe, thanks for writing this blog, it is one of my favorites.
Packers and Bears both lost today. Sweet.ReplyDelete
No make that Super Sweet. Let's just take care of business next week against the Lions.
Unless a truly great talent falls to us late in the first round, it will be highly unlikely that we draft anything outside of the secondary or a quarterback. Besides Winfield and (for the most part) Cedric Griffin our secondary is what is preventing this team from flat our stomping on our opponents to date. If a good quarterback is avaliable we might go in that direction, but I'd be really surprised to see any other defensive or offensive position drafted in the first round.
Tim, (anon here) thanks for the comment, I agree that our secondary could use some improvement, hopefully it can improve after the bye week.ReplyDelete
winfield participated in practice today!! good news for the superbowlers!!ReplyDelete
Ah ha ha ha... great dream! I have that same dream all the time, it sucks to wake up doesn't it?ReplyDelete
Praise for special teams coach Brian Murphy for a job well done. Of course, Ex Vikes Spec. teams coach Ferraro makes Coach Murphy look like Steven Hawking after the Purple gave up an NFL record 7 special teams touchdowns last year.ReplyDelete
And Percy Harvin definately is helping pad the kick return stats. A person can simply see the overall improvement.
Let's rough up the Lions this week end and make it an even 8-1. I know that's nine, but I don't care.
So is a T-Wolves season ticket holder going to start blogging about basketball too?ReplyDelete
